Explore Gardens of Stone canyon country before tracing the embankments of the former Newnes Railway to the iconic Glowworm Tunnel.
Your guides connect the landscape with its industrial past — shale‑oil works, railways and remote settlements — while you experience classic pagoda formations, cool canyons and, conditions permitting, a riverside stop before shuffling into the cool darkness of the glowworm tunnel with its starry canopy of bioluminescent larvae!
- Sandstone pagodas and canyon sections
- Walk on the former Newnes Railway embankment (1907–1932)
- The famous Glowworm Tunnel (loan red‑lens torches provided)

- 09:00 – Meet at Glowworm Tunnel Car Park (Glowworm Tunnel Rd)
- 09:15 – Ascend to pagodas and canyons; geology and ecology
- 11:15 – Join Old Coach Rd; descend toward Wolgan Valley
- 12:00 – Optional river stop (short detour) + lunch
- 13:00 – Follow Newnes Railway formation toward tunnel; industrial heritage stories
- 14:30 – Enter Glowworm Tunnel (quiet, low‑light etiquette)
- 15:00 – Return to trailhead

- Youth ticket – Suitable for participants aged 12-16 years. Youth (12–16) receive 20% off Standard ticket price.

- 65+ years old – Participants aged 65+ must provide a GP medical clearance letter during booking.
